Chairside Economical Restorations of Esthetic Ceramic or CEREC is a new dental technology which allows fabrication of in-office crowns. While traditional dental crowns two visits, with CEREC you walk out of the office with a new crown in a single visit.

How Does CEREC Work?
First the dentist preps the tooth that allows the crown to fit over the natural tooth. Then the dentist will take digital impression of the prepped tooth. This digital image will be transferred to a computer with CAD/CAM software. This will allow the doctor to custom design your crown. Once the dentist is satisftied with the design, it will be sent sent to an in-house milling machine. A small piece of all-ceramic material will be placed within the unit and within one hour, you will have a custom-made dental restoration that looks and feels completely natural once it is securely in place.
